The Lightweight Illuminating Transmitter System (LITS) is a family of assault zone (AZ) markers. The modular, dual-battery powered LITS kit may be tailored by the operator to meet specific AZ mission tasking. The LITS meets the special operations need for smaller size, lighter weight, brighter light and longer battery life. The system includes a high-intensity white light for covert, active runway marking and other AZ applications where a bright, white light is appropriate. Low-power light emitting diode (LED) markers are available in a variety of standard colors. They may be used for ground traffic control and marking hazards.
